5 kids flicks to screen at Fajr fest

Latest run of Fajr Film Festival in Iran will showcase five children’s films during the country's major cinematic event.

The films ‘Little Heroes’ and ‘Thief and Fairy 2’ both directed by Hossein Qena'at will screen during the Iranian festival from February 3-7.

‘The World of Bags’, ‘The Elephant King' and ‘Chocolate’ are in the lineup catering to children and young adult audiences.

‘Little Heroes’ directed by Hossein Qena’at tells the story of teenagers who practice taekwondo, with special guest cast member, Olympic champion of taekwondo, Yousef Karami.

The synopsis of Soheyl Movaffaq’s ‘Chocolate’ reads, “Everything starts with a box of chocolate… That means I was a kid… When you are a kid, chocolate is the most adorable taste in the world.”

Set in Africa, the animation film ‘The Elephant King’ narrates the story of an elephant who rules over other animals as king.

The five selected films for children and adolescents will be shown in host cinemas throughout the country during the 36th Fajr Film Festival.

A variety of programs will be held on the sidelines of the event, including meet-and-greets with representatives of the five children’s films.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to be held from February 1 in Iran.
